So Lucinda tagged me awhile ago and I didn’t have time to respond for a while but I think it is a fun idea and now have a few minutes to do it. First I will post the rules, then I will answer the questions.
Rules:
1. Post these rules
2. Post a photo of you and 11 things about your life
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them
5. Go to their blog and tell them you've tagged them
Eleven things about my life
1. I love my little family ( my bigger families too) I love being married and being a Mom. There is nothing more rewarding then having my kids give me unsolicited kisses and “I love yous”.
2. I love to read. I will read just about anything I can get my hands on. I have always read story books but recently ‘discovered’ the non-fiction area of the library and it is full of some really neat stuff!!
3. I love animals of all kinds. I used to want to be a Vet but I was afraid that if I went through all of that schooling that I wouldn’t want to stay home with my kids.
4. Feet gross me out, as Vearle knows and loves to give me a hard time about!
5. My biggest ‘trivial’ fear is spiders. I absolutely hate them, they gross me out and make me turn into a huge sissy. Other then that my real fears are probably the same as every one else… losing a child or a spouse or watching the people I love suffer.
6. I love the great outdoors. I wish we were able to go camping or fishing more often as there is something so peaceful about being outside.
7. One of these days I want to go to Italy. But I want to learn Italian first because I think it is a beautiful language and that way when I go I don’t just have to stay in all of the typical tourist areas.
8. It makes me super happy when I cook something and my family likes it. For example yesterday I made rolls and Colton who is really picky, chose to eat a roll instead of potato chips, I’ll admit it, I was pretty proud of my self!!
9. I love to go on walks with Weldon and the kids. I think it is so relaxing to just take a stroll at the end of the day and visit, then we stop and let the kids get out of the stroller and play in the grass. It is fun to watch them run and play.
10. The most important things to me are my family. I love to spend time with Weldon and the kids and would rather stay home with my family then go hang out with other people. Sometimes I think people think I am anti-social or something because I am not really into “get-togethers'” or “couples nights” but I would really just have more fun staying home! I am also very grateful that I am able to be a stay at home mom.
11. I love learning and even though it is a relief to be done with school I kind of miss it because I enjoyed most of my classes and it felt good to use my brain!
Here are the questions that I am supposed to answer:
1. How old were you when you got married?
I was 18 years old when I got married and I will have you know that I was so grown up and mature and not at all childish! (LOL, yeah right! but if nothing else getting married did help me grow up fast and I have no regrets!!)
2. How many years had you known your spouse before you got married?
Um… It would probably be more accurate if I counted the days or weeks. I knew Weldon for a month and a half before we were engaged and a little less then four months by the time we were married. Yes it was fast but I didn’t want him to get away!!
3. Would you rather be rich or poor? Why?
Well I have been there done that with the whole poor side of things so I think it would be nice to experience the rich part, but there are things that I have learned and ways that Weldon and I have grown together through the hard times that I wouldn’t trade for a truck load of cash. As John Wayne said “All the gold in the United States Treasury and all the harp music in heaven can't equal what happens between a man and a woman with all that growin' together.” Weldon will be proud of me for quoting good ol John!
4. What is your favorite song?
UM well that depends on the moment, but my favorite church songs are “a child’s prayer”, and “abide with me tis ev’n tide”
5. What is your scariest fear?
Losing the people I love
6. Boots or High Heels?
I wear my boots almost every day so for comfort and casual wear I really love them, but I have a High Heel addiction too, I love buying new high heels, the higher and spikier the heel the more I am drawn to them. They are my weakness and I have a closet full of impractical shoes.
7. If you could meet one famous man who would it be?
I think I would really like to have met Nathaniel Hale. He was a school teacher turned spy during the Revolutionary war. General Washington needed to know where the British were planning to invade Manhattan Island and needed men to go behind enemy lines as spies, Nathaniel Hale was the only volunteer. He was captured and right before the British had him hung he said that his only regret was that he had but one life to give for his country. I remember learning about him when I was young and wishing that George Washington had been able to save him. I have always loved his patriotism and even though he isn't as well known as the Founding Fathers he just seemed so brave to me. I would have also loved to meet George Washington. I think he was wonderful and have always loved the picture of him praying at Valley Forge, in fact Weldon got me that picture a few years ago and it is one of my favorite possessions.
8. If you could go on a second honeymoon where would you go?
For a second honeymoon I would love to go to a Sandal's resort somewhere like Tahiti or Fiji where they have your little hut right on the beach and the water is so clear that you can see all the little fish… also that way I could see a shark coming. I think that a trip like this would be really fun and romantic.
9. What is the longest you have stayed awake?
Probably only 24 hours, I love sleep, and I need my sleep and as Weldon knows if I don’t get it I am not very much fun to be around!
10. Who is your favorite actress?
My favorite actress is Audrey Hepburn, I think she is truly beautiful and I love the way she talks and carries herself. To me she is the epitome of grace and beauty.
11. What is your favorite season?
I love fall and early winter. I think it is because the air is just a bit nippy in the morning and all of the holidays are around the corner. I think the main reason I love this time of year is because that is when Weldon and I started dating and got married, so it reminds me of that too.
So fun! I learned a lot about you!
ReplyDeleteI miss yo my boot wearing, high heels for the important days, john wayne quoting friend!! While reading this I thought back to our younger days. Again :). AND I can't believe you were in Idaho! Where at?
ReplyDeleteWe were in Rupert I think it is about two hours away from you guys. It was such a sudden and quick trip up and back that we didnt really have time to visit any one up that way, even Adelle and Trent. I was pretty bummed but when you make that long of a trip in just a few days with two kids... two extra hours of driving is too much!! But between the viewing and funeral and meeting every one on that side of the family we really didnt have time either. It is so pretty up there. I would love to be able to take a longer trip some time and see more of the country and be able to visit too!!
ReplyDeleteWe sure had fun in our younger days didnt we? I am so lucky to have had such great friends, who knew how to party but never got too crazy! It is good to hear from you and I really enjoy reading your blog and hearing about you guys!
