We had a great Christmas this year and did plenty of things to keep us busy. It was fun to spend some time with all of my family and get to do things together. On Saturday we butchered a steer and although I did take pictures they are obviously very graphic and not really blogging material so I won’t be posting any. That took up most of the day and while that was going on I did get some cute pictures of Colton and Kaci.
Here Kaci is being brave and standing on her own.
Colton discovered that he could climb the haystack. He kept saying “Momma, High!” he was really excited about how high up he was even though he was only about three bales off the ground.

Christmas Morning
So Christmas finally came and Weldon and I were so excited for the kids to get their presents. It was so much fun to see them come out into the living room and see what Santa had left for them. They were both really excited.
Colton was really excited about his big wheel. It is so fun to have a kid old enough to get excited about Santa and Christmas presents. Kaci was excited too and loved her little toy.
She just realized it played music when she bounced on it and she thought that was so funny. Her face makes me laugh.
Then they switched and played with each others toys for awhile. After a few minutes of this Colton wanted to switch back and play with his toy some more but Kaci didn’t want to move. I took her and put her on her toy and let Colton have his. Then I went to make breakfast, after a few seconds I heard Colton say “Come on Kaci!” and when I went in there to look this is what I saw.
They figured out that if he pushed forward with his legs and she pushed backwards then they could scoot around the house like this. They were so funny to watch. I love that they are such good friends and like to play with each other.
The Day After Christmas
The next day we decided to go out and blow up an old dryer with some tannerite that Tara and Ryan had brought down with them. We loaded up the dryer and went out into the desert to shoot it.
I meant to take before and after pictures of the dryer but was only able to get a “before” picture because while the guys were shooting at it trying to get the tannerite to blow, Adelle and I had to go back to the house and get Kaci and Cache and were supposed to be back in time to watch it explode, however on the way up one of the hills the road is really washed out and we got the truck stuck, really really stuck. We missed the explosion, and made mom late to work, and dad had to go home and get the tractor to lift the truck out. So I don’t have any “after” pictures of the dryer, but I do have some pictures of the truck.
See how the running board is on the ground?
This rear tire was about four inches off the ground. It was scary, I thought we were going to roll.
Later during the day the boys also blew up a water cooler filled with rocks and caught mice and then tossed them in the air and shot them with a shotgun.
