Broken Little Arm

So on Friday I was getting ready for Travis’s Graduation and Kaci was sitting on the bed watching and leaned a little too far over the edge and fell off. I saw her falling but I wasn’t fast enough to catch her. When she hit the floor she cried a little more then usual but we thought that was just because falling off the bed is scary. She kept saying “No, No, No floor” because it hurt her when she fell and kept wanting us to “tsiss it” (Kiss it). She could move her fingers and arm and didn’t really act like it hurt her too bad so we gave her Tylenol and bathed her and put her to bed. The next morning she woke up and acted like it hurt her if she tried to put any weight on it, but after giving her Tylenol she was running around again just fine and using it like normal. Sunday morning when she woke up crying and wanting me to kiss it better, we decided that we better take her to the hospital just in case. Weldon had to give a talk in church so he went to church and took Colton with him and I took Kaci to the ER. I thought that they were going to look at me and say “yeah right”, because Kaci was acting just fine and playing and not acting hurt at all. Of course she cried when ever anyone got to close to her, but she does that with every one she doesn’t know, so that didn’t mean anything. The Dr. said to get an x-ray so we went back to get that done and I couldn’t hold her while that was being done so she had a melt down while the tech held her to get it x-rayed. It was hilarious though because while she was crying he was talking to her and he told her that she was such a cute little girl, she looked at him and said “Thank you” and then started crying again, that made the tech and I laugh. Well it turns out that she does have a buckle fracture so they put a splint on it and told us to follow up with her doctor the next day. About this time Weldon and Colton showed up at the hospital and Kaci was so glad to see them because she had been asking for them.

Kaci with a little sling on. Colton was so sweet, he was very concerned about his sister. The nurses gave him and Kaci some stickers and as soon as Colton got his he started trying to tear the sheet in half because there were two stickers per sheet and he wanted to give the other half to Kaci to make her “feel better”. He didn’t know that she had her own stickers, so then he wanted to put her stickers on her for her. We took this sling off after a few minutes because it was bothering her and Colton about freaked because he thought she needed it to feel better.

Here Kaci is with Daddy and her little splint on her arm.
The next day I called the Dr. and brought her in for them to look at it, they wanted to wait until Wednesday to actually cast it to let the swelling  go down all the way. Tuesday morning I went to get her out of bed and she had pulled it off so I called the Dr. again and they decided to just put a cast on that day.

Showing it off!!
This morning I took Colton and Kaci and Kit (the dog) on a walk and we always stop and throw rocks in the canal. Kaci has never successfully thrown one in the water, they always land in the stroller or on the cement. Today she still wasn’t able to throw her little rock in the water but I wasn’t surprised because she is right handed and the cast is on her right hand so I went to the back of the stroller to start pushing again and I glance down at the canal and there was a little pink cast floating in the water. I couldn’t believe it!! I don’t know how she got it off and I really don’t know how she managed to throw it that far out there. I quickly tied Kit to the stroller and was about to jump in to get it out (I am not sure why ) but by the time I looked back it had sunk already. Kaci was very proud of her self. I called the Dr. Office and they just laughed and told me to bring her in and they would recast it. So on Sunday I was in the ER, Monday I was at the Dr. Office, Tuesday she had pulled off the splint so I went in and they put the cast on, and today I had to go back again because she had pulled it off! Every day this week so far but hopefully now she will behave and leave it on!! little pill!!
at the clinic
Here Colton and Kaci are being silly while waiting at the clinic to get it casted AGAIN!! It is pink again and it is still super cute, now she just needs to leave it on!!
