Easter Weekend

Over Easter weekend we went to visit Josh and Lorraine and their family and we had so so much fun. It was great to get away and take a break from our everyday life. The kids all played so good together and we all had fun visiting and hanging out. We got there Friday afternoon and enjoyed catching up and watching the kids play nicely (yay we are at that stage!!) On Saturday we dyed eggs and the kids had fun doing and other then a few colored fingers the didn’t make that much of a mess, but we took their shirts off as a precaution anyway.

The kids had fun playing in the yard and were so worn out every night.

After so much playing outside the kids all got to take a bubble bath in Lorraine’s amazing tub that is so big you can practically swim laps while you bathe!

Waiting to go outside and find the eggs that the Easter Bunny left for them. Colton was very disappointed that he didn’t get to actually see the Easter Bunny.

The kids sure had lots of fun finding the eggs. We had fun giving clues and trying to attract attention to the ones that we had found to try and get the kids to notice them too.

Cute kiddos!

We left after church but we sure had lots of fun. Every single day one of the kids asks if we can go back to Aunt Lorraine’s house. And they tell me how much fun it was. A few days ago I took Preston in for his doctors appointment and Colton asked if we could go to Aunt Lorraine’s house. I told him no because it was too far away, so when the Dr. came into the room Colton asked him if we could go to Aunt Lorraine’s house. (Apparently Doctors trump Mamas) Luckily the doctor told Colton it was up to me.

We had a good time and are grateful to Josh and Lorraine for having us over. Thanks guys!!

Weldon took Monday off of work as well so Monday morning he and Colton went fishing. They didn’t catch anything because Colton kept throwing rocks in the water but they still had lots of fun. Here is a picture that Weldon texted me.

Picnics and a Petting Zoo

During March the weather was absolutely gorgeous so one day Weldon and I decided to take the kids on a picnic. They were so excited and we really had a lot of fun. I love having young children right now because the simplest things like eating lunch outside is so amazing and so fun to them. It helps me see the beauty and joy in everything when I see it the way that they do. I love it and need to be more like that.

Here we are getting ready to eat our food in a wash. I love how Preston is looking and smiling. We had a good day and it was fun to spend some time out side like that. The next week the kids and I took Grandma Shurtz to the same spot and had a picnic again. It was pretty funny though because when we got out of the car I looked down and saw an oreo that Kaci had dropped when we were there before, and even the big ants that were next to it had no interest in it, it made me wonder how much preservative were in it for the ants and everything else to not even recognize it as food! We had a fun time there with Grandma as well.

The next week I was driving though town and saw a petting zoo so I took the kids to check it out. Larissa and James came and brought Jayla and Annie Mae too. It was so cool they had all sorts of animals there and it was only a dollar to get in. I think I enjoyed it as much as the kids. There was a kangaroo and a tortoise, miniature cows, a zebra, two camels, llamas, tons of goats with babies, and other stuff that I don’t know the names of. At first Kaci wasn’t interested in touching any thing at all but she liked looking and watching Colton run around and feed everything. After a while though she decided to give petting things a try.

There was a little potbellied pig that the kids though was funny. Kaci kept laughing and saying “he’s smiling at me!”

There was a baby camel there that was insane! He had a long neck and if some one walked by with a cup of food he would stick his head through bars and ambush you. He was funny though.

Uncle James lifting Kaci up to pet the big camel. I was amazed that she wanted to touch it at all. I thought she would be afraid of it but she was just fine. The kids could have stayed all day and were so sad when we left.

This is just a cute picture of my little boys. I had put Preston in Colton’s bed while I was helping Kaci get dressed after their bath and Colton came and snuggled next to Preston under the covers. So sweet!!
