Well life as we know it is about to change around here for us in such a good way!! We are pregnant with baby number three, and I should have announced it a long time ago because now I am only nine weeks away from my due date. It is just always so weird for me to post pregnancy announcements, I am not sure why, probably because I don’t know what to say other then “hey world we are going to have a baby!!” We are having another little boy and are due November 30th. So far we really like the name Preston but we will have to wait until we see him to see if that is for sure going to be his name.
Thirty one weeks! Only nine to go!!
When we found out that it was a boy I started thinking about some of the things that we would need to get for him. The first thing on the list was a new car seat because the one we used for Kaci was all pink and flowery and very cute for a little girl but definitely wouldn’t work for a little boy. I got to thinking that there was nothing wrong with it other then the color so I did some ‘research’ on pinterest and saw that some people would just recover their old car seats so I decided to give it a go.
Before
And after. It was actually a lot of fun to watch it come together and was exciting when I put it on and it fit correctly. It was frustrating at times too and I got pretty good at seam ripping but getting it finished was totally worth it. I figure a new car seat would have cost about fifty bucks but recovering this cost about nine dollars, plus I had lots of extra fabric so I decided to make a little quilt to go with it.
I felt so creative and was actually pretty proud of myself because I don’t typically do stuff like this but it was surprisingly enjoyable and made me want to make lots of other cool stuff, it might just be all those pregnancy hormones though, I am not sure.
As for the other things that have been going on in our lives… well they have been pretty much normal. I love getting to hang out with Colton and Kaci all day and when Weldon gets home from work it is really a party here. These two sure love their Daddy and get so excited to see him at the end of the day. Weldon has to get up early for work and is usually gone before the kids wake up so him coming home at the end of the day is a really big deal and they both get so excited to see him. Colton asks me every morning where Daddy is and I tell him every morning that he is at work and he says “oh to get money?” (he asked one time why Weldon went to work and that was the answer I gave him). One day while Kaci was taking a nap and I was doing some laundry Colton ran in to where I was and raided a few things from the laundry basket and a few minutes later came running back in wearing Weldon’s shirt, hat, and socks and said “Like Daddy!!”
This little boy sure loves his Dad and wants to be just like him. A few weeks ago Weldon went to Phoenix for some work training and was gone from us for two nights, on the third night we went up and stayed in the hotel with him and then went to the zoo the next morning. Colton and Kaci had a really hard time with him being gone like that and at night they would ask where Daddy was and say that we couldn’t have dinner or go to bed yet because Daddy wasn’t home yet. It was sweet to see how much they missed him and wanted him around. It was also tough playing single mom for a few days.
When we got to Phoenix we went to dinner at a Japanese restaurant that was really neat and the food was good too. It was called Kobe and they would have a chef come over to your table and prepare the food while you watched. It was really entertaining because the chef would flame the food and do stuff like toss an egg around on a spatula. It was the most patient our kids have ever been while waiting for dinner! They didn’t eat any of it but that is probably because I gave them so many snacks on the drive over.
The chef making fried rice that smelled so good!!
Flaming some onions. It was really cool to watch this guy work!!
I didn’t get any pictures of us at the zoo the next day but we had a fun trip.
Here Kaci is sitting on the potty holding her baby. She is so into babies right now and I am sure she will be so so helpful when our baby gets here. I thought about potty training her because I think that she would really like to be. Every morning when I get her out of bed her diaper is dry and she has usually stripped herself completely naked and has thrown her pajamas and diaper over the side of her bed. I decided to go ahead and wait though because in two months I am going to have a new born baby and I don’t want to deal with her maybe having a relapse and also because if I am nursing the baby or something and she needs to go potty I won’t be able to just jump up and help her get undressed so she can use the bathroom, so I will just wait a few months.
Here Colton and Kaci are dancing. So Cute!

Yesterday Weldon and Colton went to the dollar store and came back with a pack of glow stick bracelets so we decided to give the kids a glow in the dark bubble bath. They loved it and I was amazed at how bright they really were. It made for a fun evening and I decided that glow sticks are very very cool!!
